Safeguarding

At My Future Self Matters, we are fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all young people we work with.

All staff hold current enhanced DBS checks (subscribed to the update service), clear criminal records, and professional liability and indemnity insurance. Full details of our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies are available on request.

Confidentiality

We provide a confidential service for young people. However, if a young person discloses information that indicates they, or someone else, may be at risk of significant harm, we will follow our safeguarding procedures and share relevant information with appropriate agencies in order to protect the young person and others.

Scope of Service

My Future Self Matters does not provide clinical mental health services and we do not prescribe medication. If we believe a young person would benefit from clinical input, we will support them in accessing appropriate external services. Where needed, we are happy to continue working with the young person alongside these services — for example, during any waiting periods or as part of a wider support plan.

Supervision & Professional Standards

To maintain high standards of ethical and professional practice, all staff engage in regular professional supervision with an experienced, trained supervisor. Supervision sessions are used to support reflective practice and maintain service quality. Personal or identifying information about young people is not shared during these sessions.
